Hi Dougie, how would you feel about doing this HB for CaW ?.....either for ntw2, ntw2/CB or Empire.
I don't see enough interest within NBC for this to work between ourselves, IF CaW starts to work as hoped, then there may be a bigger "pool" of players that will take a more active interest in it.
No worries whatsoever if you wish to keep it here, but the idea is pretty good and your work has been impressive, if you have the time for it, it's a pity to see it NOT used somehow.
One thing I did think about changing (if it stays here) is to make it 1v1, as we get so many problems with even getting 4 players together at the same time. It may work better as a 1v1 game, like the old wiki games did, just a thought.

No objection at all if this was moved to the CAW, Although my rather fun but ultimately amateurish approach may look a little sad when compared to what the N boys seem to have done in the past, if the CAW as a whole were to adopt there own HB games, which is pretty likely all being well then i would be happy to get involved. Yes agreed if the CAW really takes off then there will be plenty of interest in this sort of thing. Thanks for the ""impressive"" bit , i hope we can get maybe a couple more events here at the NBC, as we see how CAW is progressing. I can see where your coming from, My view is thats its really not worth doing for a 1v1, if the first two were anything to go by we should be OK for at least a 2v2, although i have posted regarding battle 3, and not much as happened as yet, time for a little promotion i think. Cheers DJ.

OK Dougie, try for one more here first and see how that goes, then think about moving it to CaW in a month or two times - perhaps.

With the new, much improved mod, this is now looking a better bet to try HB with Empire Tac War mod don't you think, no more frustration of shooting blocks and no square and no 45 minutes CTD......give it another few weeks and I think we will get some more CaW members and the pool of players will be better than here at NBC, as we don't have many "active" right now - who want to play CB.

Yes its very difficult to argue against such a suggestion, the new mod is great and we have some fantastic Historical maps (thx to G24 and friends) to stage our battles on. There is only one issue, that will in no way effect the most important thing the game itself, but for me at least will lesson slightly the overall feel and experience of an historical battle, that being the limited appearance of the unique Napoleonic units we have in CB (NTW). I find seeing the same named units lining up in our battles as appeared in the real event an exceedingly heart warming experience But hey I'm not going to argue that this alone is anywhere near enough of a reason not to do it in ETW.

Yes, that's a very fair point, I wonder......shall we see if this current one takes off with NBC, if not switch it over to CaW....if it does work here it will give you/us more time to work out the "system" of how to operate it.......then, there is of course the chance to take HB to CaW, and still use CB - if we want ?.

Yes OK G24, Salamanca will probably be the last HB battle launched from the NBC. What is your plan for how it will work at the CAW ?? I will be happy to carry on with my relaxed approach to things if wanted and if its possible, but that does not have to be the case, i will not throw my toys out of the pram if somebody else takes it on

Quote: What is your plan for how it will work at the CAW ?? Well, I'd say you should carry it on there, if you want to, I also suggest you and Smokhammer could do this together, as Smoke has a great interest (and knowledge) in these type of battles.....how about the two of you get together and work on it for CaW, after this last one here. Just an idea, you could do one side each for the OOB's and then agree them between yourselves, kind of splitting the workload 50/50. If you (or both) want to do that CaW will make a new forum over there for you (and Smoke) to be moderators of - sound like a plan ?. Maybe contact Smoke by PM in case he misses this topic.

I have raised the subject over at CaW in the "private" section, to see what reaction we get - so far Jakob is all for it, which is a good start and I'll be dis-appointed if anyone objects, but if they do we can carry on within NBC - no problem.
