Smoke, I'm at a lose to understand why your mod was working fine with me one night and then not the next, there really should be no reason to have to change anything, it's all very confusing.
How about you try this :

In order to use the Napoleons Battle mod MP, you MUST do all the following, it will not work unless you have followed the following instructions precisely :
1a. Make your Empire Total War the STANDARD IN THE BOX “VANILLA” version, it must not contain ANYTHING other than the standard version files - nothing else.
1b. Go to your Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts folder and check there is only ONE file in there, the preferences file, if there are ANY other files they MUST be deleted.
2a. Go to steam/my games and right click on EmpireTW….use the “properties/update” tab to ALWAYS KEEP THIS GAME UPTO DATE.
2b. Use the “local files” tab to VERFILY INTEGITY OF GAME CACHE.
3. Go to the FILE tab (top left of screen) and check for steam updates.
4. Exit steam.
5. Download the mod files and put them into your Empire data folder as per the instructions on the first page of the mod.
6. Move the “patch.pack” file OUT of the data folder and keep it safe somewhere on your pc - NOT in the Empire folder. Do not move out ANY other files, only this one.
7. Download, and install into the data folder, the Lordz map pack, as per their instructions.
8. Start steam
9. Launch game.
If it still does not work you can try this : Delete the entire data directory, verify/repair your install with steam and start again.
