Well i would suggest that the highest ranking NBC player would be the logical choice, but i dont expect this to be set in stone,
I would be more than willing to step aside to give somebody else the chance for overall command and im sure G24 would as well.

Excellent, I was kind of hoping you might think something like this.....generally speaking the highest NBC rank should take the CiC position, but not always, sounds good to me.

Its a fair point. There has to be a way to mentor new folks in some way otherwise the same crusty old generals (smile) will always command the field. But I guess even this is pretty realistic. The default command should go to the senior general, if he wishes to defer command that's his decision as it would have been on a real battlefield.

Cheers, M.

Very good, I think this will do as an NBC "policy" as it makes the most sense and is flexible.....job done, unless an even better suggestion arrives.

I have a "feeling" that LG might become the number one game of choice as there are serious problems with Empire vanilla and the "mod" system in Empire is not working as well as we hoped, with different versions and different mods being used, I get the impression a lot of people of fed up with the situation and are playing SP because it's a whole lot easier........this is of course not what I (and therefor NBC) would like to see in a "perfect" world.

When (if ?) LG arrives NBC ranks will be more important than now, I can see LG games being mainly clan v clan type games, as well as NBC v NBC as well.........so what I'm getting at in a roundabout way, is please remember than NBC "ranks" will be used more in LG, if a Maj Gen "commands" a Major to march to point xyz and hold there, then that is what will be expected to happen.

The idea in the above post still stands, no problems with allowing less senior commanders to take over now and then, but in game "orders" will be expected to be followed !.

Thats really a good idea. But i think i remember VC saying the new club expected to be using a ranking system for LG too. Then for club games system B ranking for other games the clan ranking will be acceptable or what?

It depends on what the CaW come up with, but I'll bet now there will "clan" v "clan" battles as well as CaW battles, the CaW ranking system (if there is one) with be for the CaW only, it will not have any effect on Clans.

CaW is not going to stop the clans doing whatever they want - it's something "extra" not in place of.......well, who knows what will happen over time. But if NBC play a 3v3 againt the N, the highest ranked NBC Officer will be in Command, regardless of any CaW rating, lets keep it simple for now.

It's been four months since the last post here and I think it's fair to say the information about LG has changed a bit since then......I would now expect MOST LG MP games to be all NBC games as the MP hosting of LG looks to be very difficult, I'm not sure Clans are going to be close enough to arrange Clan v Clan games and I now think IF we want to play MP, we are going to have to arrange things ourselves.

Bearing this in mind, the in game CiC will (I think) normally have to be the game host, who sets up the game.

Does anyone thing they will host LG games ?.....maybe we can get a list of those who are definatly prepared to host LG MP games.

I will be trying to do it.

I'll try to nut it out and host in my timezone. I don't know if there is a 'host' for PBeM games but if there is I'll try to host a few of those as well.

Moo.
