There will be FIVE categories within NBC. Officers will be able to move (up and down) these categories depending on a numbers of things such as activity on the battlefield, in the forums, battlefield performance, interest in the organisation, idea’s to improve things, taking part in Community & NBC activities.

Category 1 : The NBC High Command (4 positions).
Generally (but not always) Officers in the High Command should be active in the game lobby and the forums. Game playing ability is not as important as taking part, but winning many battles while a serving Officer will help towards reaching the High Command of NBC.

Category 2 : Army HQ Staff (Upto 4 positions).
These Staff positions will be reserved for members who have shown a commitment to NBC and the general Napoleonic gamming Community. They should be active on the battlefield and forum but it's not essential that it is every day.

Category 3 : Serving Officers.
This will contain the baulk of NBC members, it is for active members and promotion will be by a combination of lobby time, forum time, battle results, taking part in NBC activities and general interest in NBC.

Category 4 : Officers away on Leave (IN-Active or only active on rare occasions).
This is for NBC members who are away at the moment, or only around "part time". These Officers will be “fast tracked” in promotion to their previous (or higher) rank provided they remain active. This could also include Officers who are not able to be active at the moment, but who have contacted us to advise they will be returning to more active service in future. It can also include Officer's who are active in short spells, who maybe get to take part in lobby games some times, but not on a regualar basis. To move out of this group players will need to become more active, they will then move up into the Serving Officers ranks.

Category 5 : This is a "special" category for HONORARY Members.
This will not be used often, and only under exceptional circumstance, it may be used for reasons that are warrented for very special case's - as they occur.

The numbers after an Officers names are the number of Hall Of Fame Awards earnt so far, which count towards possible promotions. As a guide, a single HoF award is gained for winning many battles, 500 forum posts, OR, making a single, very important, contribution to NBC or the general Community.
