Don't know Dominic. The 'free money' handed out by the Government has probably helped promote the economies of 3rd world manufacturing nations more than our own. As Australia is _not_ a manufacturing nation, yet we all love our toys (dvd's, tv's, cars) chances are that most of the free money simply bounced through local cash registers on its way out of the country.
Probably the fact that we sell base commodities to the world market has helped our growth rate. People need energy and food after all, whether or not there is a global financial problem and we tend to sell vast quantities of coal and wheat

A simplistic view I know, but I suspect theres a little truth in there.
