With todays shocking news about Battlefront not being involved with LG any longer, it's now clear we won't have a MP server to look forward to in the future, unless JMM sets one up for us - or someone else does, so we at NBC need to be ready to make whatever arrangements we can to get MP games going.

I am stunned anyone could yet give credit to what JMM claim.

I case JMM is not again talking at loud voice during his sleep, I have read in Steam they accept "non-steam games in my game list". Have we to understand we could play HistWar at steam server? I think yes.

We thought about this for CB / NTW2 as well but alas you can't actually use Steam servers for non-steam games you can just use the Steam launching interface to kick off locally installed games.

LG is going to be such a different game to the TW series I'm not sure what it will mean to not have a lobby. It may well be enough for us all to meet in the normal way using say the NBC or NWG Steam chat room (or the chat on the forums) and then simply launch games - this no lobby thing might not turn out to be the big problem it is for ETW.

"It is time to make a point after this little twist which has slowed a little the development during this last week

So to recap:

HistWar: The Grognards is now distributed by the company Play and Com, probably under the name HistWarGames to better identify ourselves.

Of course, this will not affect the quality of the game.

According to what we said previously, we will make available the game for downloading.
We will not be able to ensure early delivery of a box with CD and Manual ... Indeed, by the end we have to adjust the site (and here again I think this will be a surprise) and modify the program to establish a serial number associated with each Grognard (and not DRM) ...

However, very soon we will have the means to spread the box game in Europe or outside Europe (but there is a problem of cost of transport that will take over the buyer ...). The manual is available in 2 reference languages (English and French)

Furthermore, we will take steps to contact local distributors to reduce prices of transport .. but this may take a little longer.

To sum up the schedule by the end of the year:

To me I understand that to mean that I buy the game and get a serial number. I can then install and play the game as is my whim from now until the end of time itself even though the distribution company may be long gone.

Imagine Steam goes broke tomorrow (unlikely I know) - immediately we won't be able to play ETW, so we're held hostage to the DRM authentication scheme.
