For 1v1 play only at this stage, that may change in the future.

Each player will start with 60 units of roughly the same total value, selected by the umpire - me !.

There will be THREE battles fought and in each you may pick ANY 20 units (or less) from your 60 to fight with, once picked it can not be selected again. For example, if you have 3x12pounder cannons and you use two in the first battle that will leave you one for the last two battles. The ONLY restriction to your OOB will be that there must be one general in each battle. Games will need to be set with large funds florins, as you may pick ANY 20 units, there is no restriction on florins !.

Each battle will earn a “score” from the result, that will be men killed, less men lost, for example, killed 3500, lost 2500 means a + 1000 score. This will be added up after each battle to give a running total.

All battle results MUST be posted in the game topic together with the full details of the units that were used.

These battles may also (if agreed by both players in the normal way) qualify for the NBL - if the result is copied into that forum.

Important note : This will only work with players who are "trusted" and "sensible" enough to be honest in the reports of "I captured objective 1 and 2 but not 3". As the unpire I can resolve any tricky situations where players get confused if they do or do not hold the objective, but in the main this should be very clear.
